CONSTANTINE, Mich. (WOOD) — Police are looking for a pair of masked men who robbed a group of 6-7 card players, pistol-whipping one of the victims.

The crime happened shortly before 8:55 p.m. Sunday at Whispering Pines II mobile home park, located at 1200 S. Washington in Constantine.

Dispatchers say they were alerted to the crime when a 911 caller said they were shot by a home invasion suspect. Officers found the victim with a head wound, but determined he was hit with the handgun and not shot.

The group of victims told officers that two males wearing Halloween masks and carrying handguns walked into a trailer where they were playing a card game and ordered them to get down on the floor. The victims said the thieves took their wallets, cellphones and other items from their pockets.

Police say during the crime, one of the victims grabbed one of the suspect’s guns, but the suspect pulled the weapon out of the victim’s hand and hit him on the head with it.  Two shots were fired in the trailer, but detectives say no one was hit.

The suspects were last seen leaving in an older dark blue or black Dodge Caravan.  A white SUV was also seen leaving the scene around the same time, but it’s unclear if it was connected to the crime.
