HARTFORD, Mich. (WOOD) — Police in Van Buren County are looking for the man who exposed himself to a woman outside a gas station.

It happened around 8:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Shell gas station in Hartford, located on 61828 County Road 687, just north of I-94.

A woman told police she was leaving the gas station convenience store when a bright blue vehicle pulled up beside her. She told police the driver said something to her but she couldn’t hear him, so she walked closer. That’s when she saw the man was exposing himself.

The woman told police she asked the suspect what he thought he was doing. She tried to get out her phone to take a photo of his license plate and call police, but the vehicle headed west on I-94 towards Berrien County.

The man is described as African-America with short dark hair. He’s about 20-30 years old and was last seen driving a bright blue four-door midsize SUV, possibly a Honda. The vehicle had an Ohio license plate that contains the letters “CCL.”

Anyone with additional information in this case is encouraged to contact Hartford police at 269.621.3225.
