Deputies seek driver who hit, killed Bangor man

BANGOR TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — The Van Buren County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help in tracking down a hit-and-run driver who left a pedestrian to die.

The incident happened around 7:28 p.m. Wednesday on County Road 378/30th Avenue near 61st Street in Bangor Township, west of Bangor.

Deputies say the pedestrian, a 55-year-old man from Bangor, died at the scene. They’re not releasing his name until relatives are notified.

The suspect’s vehicle is believed to be a Dodge Journey between the model years of 2010 and 2019. The SUV is light-colored, possibly sliver or light blue with damage to the front driver’s side.
