PENN TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — Two people were hospitalized after a head-on crash west of Vandalia Wednesday.

It happened around 5:30 p.m. on M-60 near Calvin Center Road in Penn Township.

The Cass County Sheriff’s Office says Miguel Guerrero lost control of his car on slick roads and crossed the centerline, hitting another car head-on.

Guerrero, 67, of Stevensville, and the other driver, 62-year-old Rebecca Jellison of Casspolis, were both still trapped in their cars when first responders arrived.

After crews freed them, both were taken to the hospital. Their conditions were not released later Wednesday.

Authorities say alcohol wasn’t a factor and both drivers were wearing their seat belts.
