BRONSON TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — Two children, ages 2 and 5, were killed when the camper they were in caught fire Monday morning.

The fire broke out before 10:30 a.m. along Hollow Road between Taggart and Hyska roads west of Bronson. The Branch County Sheriff’s Office says the camper was already engulfed in flame by the time emergency responders arrived.

Authorities say the three children were alone in the fifth-wheel camper when the fire sparked. Its cause is still under investigation, but foul play is not suspected.

A third child, age 7, was also injured and taken to a Kalamazoo hospital.

The children’s names have not yet been released, nor have authorities yet specified their relationship to one another.

The family dog was also killed in the fire.
