For the second Olympics in a row, the first U.S. medal of the Winter Olympics has come in men’s snowboard slopestyle.
And once again, it was an upset.
Red Gerard, a 17-year-old from Colorado, scored an 87.16 on his third and final run to capture the gold medal.
