ROCKFORD, Mich. (WOOD) – Five middle school students have been suspended for “sexting,” according to Rockford Public Schools’ superintendent.

Rockford Public Schools Superintendent Mike Shibler told 24 Hour News 8 on Friday that the North Rockford Middle School students took half-dressed pictures of themselves off school grounds and sent them to other students.

The investigation started Thursday when students told school leaders about what was going on, according to Shibler.

Shibler says more students may be suspended.

The investigation is ongoing by the Rockford Police Department, Kent County Sheriff’s Department and Rockford Public Schools security.
