GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) – The march may have been canceled, but tonight’s annual Martin Luther King, Jr. Celebration at Grand Rapid Community College is still on.

“Inherit the Dream” is the 30th annual celebration of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.’s life and legacy. The event features music, dance, video, written word, awards and guest speakers.

This year’s keynote presentation is Touré, an iconic journalist, TV host and cultural critic. He’s a contributing editor to Rolling Stone, Host of the Hip Hop Show on Fuse TV, and the author of “Who’s Afraid of Post-Blackness: What it Means to be Black Now”

The message of this year’s celebration is to “Remember! Celebrate! Act! A day on, not a day off.”

The event is open to the public and the community is encouraged to come. Details:
