Quality Dairy recalls bottled water due to milk residue

LANSING, Mich. (WOOD) — A Lansing-based company has recalled gallon bottles of drinking water because they may have milk residue in them.

The affected Quality Dairy Purified Drinking Water in one-gallon bottles has Julian Code Date 231 below the label on the side of the bottle. The UPC Code is 0 08441 34212 3. It was sold primarily in the Lansing and Detroit areas.

The recall was issued last week after Quality Dairy discovered the water may contain trace amounts of milk residue that is not listed on the label and may pose a risk to people who are allergic to milk. No illnesses have been reported.

The company said the problem was caused by an operation error during the production and packaging process. That problem has been fixed.>>Online: Further details from Quality Dairy (PDF)
