Police: No threat after gunshots heard near Portage schools


PORTAGE, Mich. (WOOD) — Several schools in Portage were on alert Tuesday after reports of possible gunshots in the area.

At 8:15 a.m. and again at 10:17 a.m. police received reports of gunshots heard in the area of Isabelle Street, Robinswood Street and Angling Road.

Portage police have checked the area and have not located any threats to the schools.

The schools were on alert while investigators worked to determine where the shots came from.
