MECOSTA COUNTY, Mich. (WOOD) — Two occupants in a single-engine plane crashed at Canadian Lakes Airport Saturday morning.

Michigan State Police told 24 Hour News 8 that troopers from the Mt. Pleasent Post were dispatched just after 10:30 a.m. to assist deputies from the Mecosta Sheriff’s Office for a single-engine plane that had crashed on a runway at the Canadian Lakes Airport in Morton Township, about 18 miles southeast of Big Rapids.

The two occupants in the plane were not injured.

The investigation of this incident has been turned over to the Federal Aviation Administration as it remains unclear of what caused the plane to crash.

Firefighters from the Morton Township Fire Department also responded to the crash.
