Train collides with vehicle parked on railroad tracks

GRAND HAVEN, Mich. (WOOD) — No one was injured after a train struck a vehicle parked on railroad tracks in Grand Haven Tuesday.

It happened shortly before 9 a.m. on Columbus Avenue between 6th and 7th streets. The Grand Haven Department of Public Safety said no one was inside the vehicle and there are no reports of injuries.  

Police told 24 Hour News 8 that a visitor parked their vehicle on the tracks not knowing it was still in use.

CSX has been contacted to assess the damage to the train.
