Police seeking suspects in vehicle thefts

GRAND HAVEN, Mich. (WOOD) — Grand Haven police are searching for four suspects in the theft of three vehicles.

Officers responded to a report of four men in dark clothing who were breaking into vehicles around 3:15 a.m. in the 200 block of Sherman Avenue, near Lake Avenue.

Upon arrival, officers saw three stolen vehicles leaving the area. Two of the vehicles crashed into each other before one of the vehicles left the scene and the other was abandoned by the suspect when he fled on foot.

Police said the vehicle that fled, a tan 2010 Toyota FJ Cruiser, is believed to be in St. Joseph County.

The third stolen vehicle, a pickup truck, led officers on a chase through Grand Haven, Ottawa County, Holland and Allegan County. Holland police officers used stop sticks that flattened at least one of the tires, which caused the truck to stop in Allegan County before the suspects inside ran away.

No arrests have been made in the incident and a description of the suspects wasn’t available.
