HOLLAND TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — A motorcyclist was seriously injured after a crash near Holland on Monday.
It happened around 10:10 p.m. on Adams Street at I-196 in Holland Township. A 25-year-old motorcyclist from Zeeland was driving eastbound on Adams Street and ignored a red light at the on-ramp for westbound I-196, the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office said in a release. It said he hit the trailer of a semitruck, which was turning left onto the ramp.
Deputies say the semitruck driver, a 67-year-old man from Oklahoma, had a green light.
The motorcyclist was brought to a local hospital with serious injuries, the sheriff’s office said. It said he was wearing a helmet.
The semitruck driver was not injured.
