Hudsonville cantilevered building has new owner

Ottawa County

HUDSONVILLE, Mich. (WOOD) — A new owner will buy a landmark building in Hudsonville.

Betten Real Property, LLC of Grandville has entered into a purchase agreement with Erector, LLC of Holland to buy a 45,000-square foot building located at 4404 Central Parkway that is the longest cantilevered building in the country.

Betten Real Property says it will lease the building to MFP Automation Engineering, Inc. of Grandville, a fluid power distributor.

The $5 million cantilevered structure used to be home to Lamar Construction before the company declared bankruptcy, apparently stopped paying rent and was evicted from its corporate headquarters by Erector in July 2014.
