HOLLAND, Mich. (WOOD) — A popular bar and restaurant in downtown Grand Rapids is expanding to Holland.
The owners of HopCat announced plans Monday to open a new location in downtown Holland. The 6,200 square-foot restaurant will anchor a development also slated to include an 11-screen cinema, stores, apartments, condominiums and a 380-space parking structure.
The new HopCat will be located at 84 West 8th Street. Developers say it will feature 80 taps and indoor seating for 250 people, along with an outdoor dining area that can accommodate 70 additional guests. BarFly Ventures LLC says it will follow its tradition of no two HopCats looking the same.
Holland’s HopCat is expected to open in 2019. It will be the chain’s 18th location, half of which are in Michigan.
The original HopCat opened in downtown Grand Rapids in 2008. In March, its owners announced plans to open a second Grand Rapids location at Knapp’s Corner off the East Beltline. That restaurant is slated to open in October or November.
