Gift from stranger brightens clerk’s holiday

Ottawa County

ROBINSON TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — An Ottawa County gas station clerk wants to thank a secret Santa for the unexpected gift he left her.

Samantha Kurburski posted on Facebook that it happened Saturday morning while she was working at the gas station along Lake Michigan Drive at 120th Avenue northwest of West Olive.

She said a man she had never seen before came in and made a purchase. He then came back carrying a Christmas bag with her name on it. He told her merry Christmas and left.

The bag was filled with chocolate, snacks and money. Kurburski said she’s going to use it to pay for repairs to her and her husband’s cars.

She said she was so happy that she started crying. In her Facebook post, she wished the secret Santa a merry Christmas and said he had lifted a weight from her shoulders.

“From the bottom of my heart, THANK YOU!” she wrote. “Bless your heart, you’re truly amazing.”
