GEORGETOWN TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — The Georgetown Township Board of Trustees approved the sale of the Georgetown Ice Center on Monday.
The new owner of the facility will be DP Fox Holdings, LLC., and its name will be changed to Griff’s Georgetown.
All the current users and employees will remain in place at the ice center, which is the home rink of the GVAHA Stars, three Grand Valley State University teams, and Jenison, Hudsonville and Grandville varsity hockey teams.
In a Facebook post, the Georgetown Township Board of Trustees said privatizing the rink has been a goal for months. It also said there are plans to upgrade the building “to enhance the user experience.”
DP Fox Holdings also owns the Grand Rapids Griffins, two other Griff’s IceHouse locations, Fox Motors and several other businesses.
