ALLENDALE TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — Allendale Township is getting a new fire station.
Crews will start working on the station in the spring, Allendale Township said in a Thursday release. It will be located next to the current station near the intersection of Lake Michigan Drive and 68th Avenue. The fire department is expected to move into the new building at the end of the year.
The current station will be demolished.
The project will cost around $7.5 million, the township said. Grand Valley State University and the Downtown Development Authority are contributing to the cost.
