HOLLAND, Mich. (WOOD) — The iconic Boatwerks restaurant will soon be under new ownership.
RedWater Restaurant Group released a statement confirming they will acquire the waterfront restaurant on Lake Macatawa in Holland.
“We are honored that the founder and 12-year owner of Boatwerks, Joe Walsh, has selected RedWater Restaurant Group to take over new ownership of one of the finest waterfront restaurants in Michigan,” RedWater COO Craigh Smith said in a press release. “Joe has created and built a quality restaurant, one that we look forward to preserving. Boatwerks is not only a wonderful waterfront location for dining, it is also a perfect venue for events.”
Boatwerks first opened in 2006 and over time gained popularity in Holland and surrounding West Michigan. In 2015, Walsh opened a 5,600-square-foot event center, expanding Boatwerks’ mark on Holland.
“I have been looking for a top-notch buyer for Boatwerks,” Walsh said in the release. “I wanted to find owners who would maintain the quality standards and strong reputation that I’ve built throughout the years. I am very happy to have selected RedWater Restaurant Group, a reputable, well-known and well-managed company, as the new owners of Boatwerks. I’m confident that RedWater Restaurant Group will do a quality job in both operating Boatwerks and working with members of the Holland community.”
Information on when the sale will be finalized was not immediately released.
