GEORGETOWN TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — The Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office is looking for the three people who stole cellphones from four stores in the last week.

The first theft happened Oct. 10 at the Cellular Connection on Cottonwood Drive near Baldwin Street in Jenison. The second happened Saturday on at the Verizon store along Lake Michigan Drive near 64th Avenue in Allendale Township. The next was Monday at the AT&T on W. Shore Drive north of Riley Street in Holland Township. The most recent was Tuesday at the Sprint store on Baldwin in Jenison, next door to the first store that was broken into.

In all four cases, the thieves made off with cellphones, though authorities didn’t say exactly how many were taken.

The first three thefts happened while the stores were closed, but the Sprint was robbed while it was still open. In that case, the robbers cut security devices to steal phones.

The three people ran away after each theft. Authorities brought in dogs to track them, but they weren’t found.

Suspect descriptions weren’t immediately released Wednesday.

The sheriff’s office said its detectives are working with other agencies to find out if any are investigating similar crimes.

Anyone with information is asked to call the sheriff’s office at 616.738.4000 or Silent Observer at 877.887.4536.
