SPRING LAKE TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — Four people, including an infant, are in the hospital after a Friday afternoon crash in Spring Lake Township.
Around 1:15 p.m., deputies with the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office were sent to the intersection of Taft Street and 168th Avenue for a two-vehicle crash.
Responding deputies learned that a Volvo sedan, driven by an 82-year-old Spring Lake man, was heading westbound and “disregarded the stop sign” and was hit by a southbound Ford Focus.
The 82-year-old was taken to the hospital with critical injuries, the sheriff’s office said. His condition is unknown.
The driver of the Ford Focus, a 29-year-old Spring Lake woman, and the two passengers, a 20-year-old Spring Lake man and a 2-month-old Spring Lake boy, were taken to the hospital. The sheriff’s office said their injuries are not considered life-threatening.
The crash remains under investigation.
