Record Store Day: A music lover’s holiday

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — Music lovers all over West Michigan will be able to participate in national Record Store Day, a day dedicated to celebrating independently-owned record stores.

Record Store Day was created in 2018 and& happens twice a year, once in April and once in November.

As part of the celebration this month, more than 150 artists are releasing special edition records that will only be available Saturday at participating independent record stores.

Here are some local stores participating in West Michigan:

  • Grand Rapids — Schuler Books and Music on 28th Street and Vertigo Music on Division Avenue.
  • Kalamazoo — Satellite Records on S. Westnedge Avenue and Green Light Music on W. KL Avenue.
  • Muskegon — Third Coast Vinyl on 3rd Street.
