MUSKEGON, Mich. (WOOD) — Police confirm two people were killed Monday night in two separate shootings in Muskegon.
The first shooting happened around 6:40 p.m. in the 800 block of Emerald Street near E Apple Avenue.
The Muskegon Police Department says a 31-year-old man from Muskegon was found shot in the head and was unresponsive when they arrived on scene. He later died at a local hospital.
It is not yet known if anyone is in custody.
The second shooting happened on Glen Oaks Drive just after 10:20 p.m.
In that shooting, a 20-year-old man from Muskegon was found shot inside a home. In a news release, police said the victim “succumbed to his wound and was pronounced dead.”
In both shootings, police say they will release more detailed information when it becomes available.
They also say investigators are still trying to determine if both shootings are related.
