MUSKEGON, Mich. (WOOD) — Great Lakes Fresh Market is closing two of its three stores in the Muskegon area.
The shops along Apple Avenue at Shonat Street in Muskegon Township and Sherman Boulevard near Wickham Drive in Norton Shores will shut down Dec. 22. A store manager cited financial reasons.
The store on Whitehall Road at Ruddiman Drive in North Muskegon will stay open.
It's not yet clear how many people may lose their jobs. Union employees will be sorted by seniority and can choose to work at the North Muskegon store. Many of the salaried employees will be laid off.
