MSP: Thefts from 8 cars near Dorr

SALEM TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — Michigan State Police are investigating a string of larcenies from vehicles at two subdivisions in Allegan County.

They happened between 2 a.m. and 4 a.m. Wednesday in Salem Township, southwest of the community of Dorr.

MSP Trooper Cecil Vashaw told 24 Hour News 8 that property was stolen from a total of eight vehicles on Forgotten Court, Hidden Forest Drive and Rabbit River Farm Drive.

The thief didn’t have to break in to the vehicles, Vashaw said. Instead, they simply opened unlocked doors to steal. Residents are reminded to lock their car doors.

Vashaw said police hope to find the culprit soon.
