MSP seek driver in hit-and-run crash in Wayland Twp.

WAYLAND TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — Police are looking for the suspect in a hit-and-run crash that seriously injured a man in Allegan County.

Michigan State Police say a 35-year-old man from the Wayland area was pushing his bike on the shoulder of the road along 135th Avenue, west of 6th Street, when he was hit from behind by a pickup truck just before 10:30 p.m. Wednesday.

A witness told police that the suspect was driving a newer, red, Ford pickup truck and continued driving eastbound on 135th Avenue after hitting the man.

The victim was seriously injured and was taken by ambulance to Metro Hospital in Grand Rapids.

It’s unknown if alcohol was a factor in the crash.
