Tourism surge expected for Memorial Day weekend, association says

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — With many holiday events canceled last year and the recent COVID-19 restrictions lifting, this Memorial Day weekend is shaping up to be a busy one.

Courtney Sheffer with West Michigan Tourist Association says Michigan families are expected to attend events like parades and other Memorial Day ceremonies both in their area and in other parts of the state.

Camping will also be very popular, so if you’re planning to camp, you should make a reservation now to be sure you have a spot this weekend.
