UNDATED (WOOD) — A Hudsonville-based hospitality management company has been tapped to build a new beachfront hotel in Manistee.
The new Hampton Inn and Suites will replace the old Lakeshore Motel on South Lakeshore Drive along Lake Michigan. It will have 108 rooms with balconies, an indoor pool and a beach bar.
Hotel Ventures Manistee LLC picked Suburban Inns to build it.
“The Hampton Inn and Suites brand provides tremendous value to business and leisure travelers alike,” Suburban Inns CEO Peter Beukema said in a Wednesday statement. “It will serve the recreational and economic needs of Manistee and Manistee County very well. As is indicative of Suburban Inns properties, we will put our signature touch on the interiors to really make the property fit and finish on par with a lakefront resort. Our plan is to give the property a high-end resort feel, while keeping it approachable to visitors from all walks of life.”
Construction is slated to being in April of next year and the hotel should open the following April.
Suburban Inns was also recently chosen to remodel McCalmly Plaza Hotel in Battle Creek.
