GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — Outdoor enthusiasts in Michigan can go fishing for free this weekend.

Ordinarily, fishing requires a license, but that will be waived Saturday and Sunday. It will also be free to get into state parks if you want to fish there.

The free weekend applies to call types of fish, but other regulations still apply.

The Michigan Department of Natural Resources holds free fishing weekends twice a year. The next one is scheduled for June 8 and 9; that will also be free ORV weekend.
