FREMONT, Mich. (WOOD) — Two former Fremont Public Schools teachers will not face charges for alleged inappropriate behavior with students over a decade ago.

Eight women said former Fremont High School Assistant Principal Jeff Moon and Jenison teacher John Veldt sexually assaulted them as students in the 1990s. Moon resigned from his position earlier this year and Veldt is on administrative leave amid the investigation of the allegations.

Newaygo County Prosecutor Worth Stay announced in a release the men will not face charges due to the statute of limitations.

The alleged incidents took place between about 1991 and 1995, all which police said took place on school grounds. Veldt and Moon coached basketball at Fremont High School at the time of the alleged sexual assaults.
