EVERETT TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — Michigan State Police are investigating a deadly crash in Newaygo County.

Police say they were called to the scene at 12:35 a.m. Saturday morning for a single-vehicle crash on South Walnut Avenue, north of 40th Street in Everett Township.

Investigators believe the driver failed to negotiate a curve, left the road, hit some trees and flipped his vehicle.

That driver was the only person in the vehicle and was pronounced dead on scene. He has been identified as Daniel Bourassa, of White Cloud.

The crash remains under investigation but police believe both speed and alcohol were factors in the crash.
