WHITE CLOUD, Mich. (WOOD) — A Grant-area man is charged with sexually assaulting a missing girl.
Frederic Hyde, 37, was charged Monday with four counts of third-degree criminal sexual conduct and one count of delivering meth to a minor. He’s also charged as a second-time habitual offender.
Authorities say Hyde gave a 13-year-old meth and raped her last week. She was missing for three days before being found safe.
24 Hour News 8 is not using the teen’s name because she is listed as a victim in a sexual assault case. A previous report published while she was missing has been removed from woodtv.com to protect her identity.
Hyde was ordered held in the Newaygo County Jail on a $50,000 bond. He’s expected back in court Nov. 15 for a probable cause hearing and Nov. 21 for a preliminary hearing.
