GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — Larry Nassar, the former doctor who sexually assaulted his patients, is being moved to a different federal prison.

Nassar’s attorney claimed Nassar was assaulted at a prison in Tucson, Arizona, in May, only hours after being released into the general population.

Nassar was sent to the high-security prison in Tucson in February. On Sunday, federal prison records placed him at the Federal Transfer Center in Oklahoma City.

Now 55, he is serving a 60-year sentence on federal child pornography charges. His earliest release date is in 2069. He was also sentenced to two additional lengthy prison terms in Michigan after pleading guilty to state-level sexual assault charges.

Hundreds of girls and women, many of them athletes and some Olympians, say Nassar abused them under the guise of providing medical treatment while working at Michigan State University and for USA Gymnastics. Complaints against him stretch back two decades, but he wasn’t charged with any crimes until 2016.

Nassar is appealing his sentences.
