WHEATLAND TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — Three people were hospitalized Saturday night after a rollover crash near Remus.

It happened around 11:30 p.m. on 20th Avenue north of 9 Mile Road in rural Wheatland Township.

The Mecosta County Sheriff’s Office says a driver swerved to avoid hitting a deer. The car instead hit a large rock, then flipped into a frozen creek bed.

The driver, a 20-year-old from Holland, and two passengers, a 20-year-old Grand Rapids man and an 18-year-old woman from Rockford, were taken to a hospital in Mt. Pleasant. Their injuries were not considered life-threatening.
