NEWAYGO, Mich. (WOOD) — A boil water advisory that was prompted by a water main break in Newaygo has been lifted.
The advisory was lifted Wednesday afternoon. It was previously put into effect on Feb. 1 for people within the Newaygo city limits north of the Muskegon River, west of M-37 and along West M-82/Fremont Street.
The water main break happened Feb. 1 on Croton Road. Such breaks cause a drop in pressure, which can allow bacteria to enter the system, so cities issue boil advisories while they test to make sure the water is safe.
