NEWAYGO, Mich. (WOOD) — The city of Newaygo has lifted its precautionary boil water advisory.

City officials announced the move Friday, two days after Newaygo’s water system lost pressure, leading to the advisory.

Decreases in pressure can allow bacteria to enter the system. Residents were asked to boil their water before consuming or using it.

Newaygo Department of Public Works Superintendent Ron Wight said crews would test the water quality Wednesday morning.

The city didn’t say what was the cause of the loss of pressure.
