HASTINGS, Mich. (WOOD) — An Ohio man who was arrested for robbing the Walgreens in Hastings last year has agreed to enter a plea.
Eric Gregory Lawson of Boardman, Ohio pleaded no contest Tuesday in Barry County Circuit Court to armed robbery as a fourth habitual offender.
As part of the plea, the prosecutor agreed to dismiss an unarmed robbery charge and a weapons offense and Lawson agreed to a mandatory minimum of 25 years in prison.
The robbery happened on Oct. 15, 2015 at the Walgreens in the area of Broadway and Apple streets. Police say Lawson entered the store and demanded money from a worker. He stole an undisclosed amount of money.
Lawson will be back in court on June 15 for sentencing.
