MUSKEGON HEIGHTS, Mich. (WOOD) — Muskegon Heights Police Department and Muskegon Community Foundation for Muskegon County announced plans to re-launch its little league baseball program.

The Muskegon Heights Police Department Chief Joseph Thomas, Jr. says it’s the first phase of the Police Athletic League.

“I am very excited about the opportunity to give the Heights’ youths another positive outlet during the summer months; thanks to the gift from the foundation,” Thomas said in a statement. “I am just as pleased to see the support coming from the police officers, other Heights employees, groups and organizations!”

Both boys and girls between 8- and 11-years-old are welcome to join the league.

The season will start on June 11 and run until September.

Anyone interested in participating can call Kassandra Kitchen at 231.733.8901 or Erran Briggs 231.733.8864.
