GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — The lineup for the fifth annual GRandJazzFest was released Wednesday, and for the first time the event headliner is a woman.
Trumpet player Cindy Bradley will headline the festival, performing Saturday, Aug. 20. Sunday night’s headliner is Chris Standring.
The event’s nine other performers include the Grand Rapids Orchestra with Edye Evans Hyde, organissimo, Tumbao Bravo, Steve Hilger, Tim Bowman, Student Showcase band Bierenga-Sullivan Quintet, Lakeshore Big Band, Urban Jazz Coalition and Walter White.
The free festival sponsored by the DTE Energy Foundation, the City of Grand Rapids and Downtown Grand Rapids, Inc. runs Aug. 20 and 21 at Rosa Parks Circle in downtown Grand Rapids.—–Online:GRandJazzFest
