Suspect flees armed robbery in Kalamazoo

KALAMAZOO, Mich. (WOOD) — The Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety is looking for a suspect who robbed a business late Monday night. 

Authorities tell 24 Hour News 8 that the suspect entered a business in the 800 block of S. Burdick St. and pointed a handgun at the clerk, demanding money. 

The suspect then grabbed the cash register and fled southbound. 

He is described as a black male with a medium build and was wearing a blue hooded sweatshirt, gray sweatpants and white Nike shoes. He was also wearing an orange mask. 

Officers deployed a K-9 track and believe the suspect got into a getaway vehicle.
