KALAMAZOO, Mich. (WOOD) — Three people were sent to the hospital Friday after a rollover crash in Kalamazoo.
It happened around 1:45 p.m. on northbound US-131 near D Avenue in Kalamazoo.
Authorities said a semi-truck hit a vehicle that was re-entering the roadway after making a stopping on the shoulder. After broadsiding the vehicle, the semi’s driver lost control of the truck, causing it to roll over.
Investigators determined the semi-truck driver was texting at the time of the crash.
The semi driver was taken to a Kalamazoo hospital to be treated for minor injuries, and the driver and passenger of the other vehicle were taken to a Grand Rapids hospital with minor injuries.
Traffic on US-131 will remain slow while the crash is being cleared.
