KALAMAZOO, Mich. (WOOD) — Authorities are looking for the man who robbed a bank branch in Kalamazoo Monday afternoon.

It happened around 1:30 p.m. at the Old National Bank on Portage Road at E. Cork Street.

The Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety says a man came into the bank and told a teller to give him cash. He didn’t show a gun, but implied he had one. After getting some money, he took off running.

No one was hurt.

Witnesses told responding KDPS officers that they saw the robber running around the side of the building and then get into a small car on Howland Avenue. The car was last seen headed north on Portage Road.

The robber was described as an African-American man in his late 40s or early 50s. He was wearing a black hooded zip-up jacket, dark-colored pants and shoes, and a light-colored baseball cap.

Witnesses said the car was missing the front passenger’s side hubcap.

Anyone with information about who the robber is or where he may be is asked to call KDPS at 269.488.9111 or Silent Observer at 269.343.2100.
