Police seeking tips in Battle Creek shooting

BATTLE CREEK, Mich. (WOOD) — Police are seeking tips in identifying the suspect of a shooting in Battle Creek Thursday.

It happened at 5:14 p.m. Thursday in the area of Walter Avenue and Buckeye Street in Battle Creek.

When police arrived on scene, the 28-year-old male victim had already been taken to an area hospital for treatment of a gunshot wound to the leg. His injury wasn’t considered to be life-threatening.

Police said numerous people were present when the shooting happened, but most had left the scene when officers arrived and those who stayed refused to speak with police.
