Police seek Kalamazoo armed robbery suspect

KALAMAZOO, Mich. (WOOD) — Authorities are searching for two suspects in connection to an armed robbery in Kalamazoo early Thursday morning.

It happened around 1 a.m. near Pitcher and Walnut streets in the city’s Edison neighborhood.

The Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety said a man was walking when he was confronted by two men who then hit with an object and robbed him of his wallet at gunpoint.

The suspects were last seen running away in the 600 block of Walnut Street. Both were wearing blue jeans, Nike style white shoes and t-shirts, according to a KDPS news release.

One suspect with shoulder-length braided hair was armed with a silver semi-automatic pistol. The police department released a sketch of the armed suspect.

The victim was taken to the hospital then later released, the release said.
