Police investigating two Sunday night armed robberies

KALAMAZOO, MENDON, Mich. (WOOD) — The Kalamazoo County Sheriff’s Office is investigating two armed robberies that happened Sunday night. 

Authorities say the first robbery happened around 9:30 p.m. in the 11000 block of Portage Rd. at the Gourdneck Lake Market.

Three suspects held the clerk at gun point and then left with an unknown amount of money.

Deputies then responded to a second robbery that happened in St. Joseph County at the Marathon Gas Station on W. Main Street in the Village of Mendon. 

Four suspects were taken into custody. 

These two robberies may be connected as these incidents are still under investigation by the Kalamazoo County Sheriff’s Office.
