KALAMAZOO, Mich. (WOOD) — A person of interest in the cold case death of a Vicksburg teen has been arrested on separate charges, according to police.

Brenton Spaulding was arrested Monday afternoon on domestic violence charges and is being held at the Kalamazoo County Jail.

Kalamazoo County Undersheriff Paul Matyas tells 24 Hour News 8 that Spaulding is a person of interest in the 1983 death of 16-year-old Eric Cross.

His body was found in Brady Township, near the village of Vicksburg, on June 26, 1983. He had gone to a party and was walking home when he was hit by a vehicle and killed. Witnesses reported seeing two men and woman in the vehicle.

In March, Matyas announced that there were now five suspects in the cold case.
