KALAMAZOO, Mich. (WOOD) —  A Kalamazoo man is facing charges after investigators say he broke into a business and tried to make off with some of the contents inside.

It happened around 4 a.m. Friday at a business in the 600 block of E. Crosstown Parkway in Kalamazoo.  A Kalamazoo public safety sergeant was traveling in the area when he spotted the man leaving the business and approached him.

The sergeant determined the man got into the business through a window, then repeatedly carried stolen property out of the business, stashing it nearby to pick up later.

Officers say the building was secured and the property was returned to the business.

The 28-year-old suspect faces charges of breaking and entering and possessing methamphetamine, in addition to a previous warrant for his arrest.
