PORTAGE, Mich. (WOOD) — Authorities are looking for two Portage men suspected of walking into an apartment and robbing the tenants at gunpoint.

James Michael Simmons, 26, and 27-year-old Marcus Anthony Lambert are wanted on armed robbery charges in connection to the Jan. 4 incident at Milham Meadows apartment complex in Portage.

Officers say one of the victims buzzed open the main entry door and unlocked their apartment door, believing it was a friend coming to visit. The suspects rushed in from both sides of the door, pushing the tenant into the apartment, officers said.

One of the robbers pulled out a gun and pointed it in one of the residents’ faces while demanding money from all three victims.

Detectives say the other thief collected a PlayStation 4, video games and cash before both robbers escaped.

Simmons is 5 feet, 10 inches tall and weighs 160 pounds. Lambert is 6 feet, 1 inch tall and weighs 220 pounds.

Lambert is also facing a charge of first-degree home invasion.

Anyone with tips regarding both suspects’ whereabouts is encouraged to contact the Portage Department of Public Safety at 269.329.4567 or Silent Observer at 269.343.2100.
