OSHTEMO TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — A Kalamazoo man who stabbed another man to death will spend decades in prison.

A judge Monday sentenced Kalvin Carter to up to 60 years in prison for second-degree murder in the Sept. 30 death of 27-year-old Charles Keith-Shauwndell Hough.

Deputies found Hough injured outside the Concord Place apartment complex off West KL Avenue, east of US-131 in Oshtemo Township.

Hough was taken to a nearby hospital, where he died.

Carter was arrested soon after the stabbing. It’s unclear what provoked the attack.
